Trade across countries within Africa is on the rise. According to the African Union (AU), cross-country trade (also known as intra-Africa trade is set to increase to 28 percent by 2021.
What does this mean:
- It will be easier to export goods and services from one country to another within the African Region than it was 5-10 years ago.
- It also means that trade restrictions are being removed by African Countries that are signatory to AU. For example, Ghana took the first step about a year to allow citizens from all AU Member States to travel to the country with no prior visa (visa on arrival). Initiatives such as this are set to boost Africa’s cross trade.
- The intra-trade also offers young Africans the opportunity to travel, and to explore their entrepreneurial potential across borders.
It’s time to take advantage of the opportunity. Check out the book “Upgrade to Africa Business Class” for more.
